Tips for Pokémon Dream Radar

Pokémon Dream Radar is a new companion app that launched alongside Pokémon Black Version 2 and White Version 2 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The final purpose of the game is to capture the Therian Forms of the Kami Trio: Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus.

You do this by scanning your surroundings with the 3DS camera and shooting the Dream Clouds you find around you in the Interdream Zone, where Pokémon live. You can transfer any Pokémon or items found here to your copy of Pokémon Black Version 2 or White Version 2. The game costs $2,99 and you can find more info here. Or you can take a picture of the following QR Code with your Nintendo 3DS.

Let's check the tips!

Tip Nº 1: Catch the Dream Clouds in the right moment. And do the combo!

Dream Clouds float around you peacefully and change size with a noticeable pattern, what you need to do is catch them at the moment they are the biggest, that way when you shoot them, you can get four or five Dream Orbs at once. When you do this, after shooting the last Orb you will get 3 more as a bonus, but now you must be fast, the Orbs will stay alive only the exact amount of time you need to catch'em, your movements need to be quick and precise, if you do it right you can get up to fifteen extra Dream Orbs.

Tip Nº 2: Upgrades!

The game presents 3 upgrades for your visor: Beam, Energy and Scope. The last one is the one you need to focus on, this upgrade increases the amount of Dream Clouds you can find at once in increments of five, and since you start with only 10 Dream Orbs, you will need this a lot. Besides every increment gives you one more chance to catch a Pokémon or get an item because you get one extra black cloud (that contains Pokémon) every time.
The other upgrades are not necessary at all; the Beam upgrade gives you more power to catch Pokémon, you can do fine with only one upgrade, you will have enough time to catch the Pokémon even with a low-level beam; the Energy upgrade gives you more time to catch the Pokémon, here I recommend no more than one upgrade, even for the special Pokémon you will have more than enough time to catch them.

Tip Nº 3: Support items!

When you have trouble (sometimes double) sometimes you will need something extra to help you catch the Pokémon (and find in disappointment that the thing so hard to catch was a Revive) and here is where the Support Items come into play, you have three available: Vortex Charge, Dragnet Charge and Energy Recharge, each costing 100, 50 and 50 Dream Clouds respectively, for one use. The Items are placed in the touchscreen and you just tap them when you are catching a Pokémon in order to use them.
There is only one Item that works: Vortex Charge, this one holds the Pokémon in place so you can shoot them with your capture beam more easily. With a couple of these, even the Legendaries will be a matter of keeping the A button pressed long enough. The Dragnet charge slows down a Pokémon, but why would you want that, when you can hold them in place? And the Energy Recharge just restores some energy used to catch a Pokémon, the energy being the time you have left to catch it, you could have trouble with that because some of the hard-to-catch Pokémon shoot you and take some time away, but again, you have more than enough time to catch, even with that.

That's all for now people. I hope that my Tips help you catch the Legendary Kami Trio, and as a last little tip, after capturing Landorus try putting some of the other DS Pokémon games...
